ARDL Inorganic Laboratory
ARDL stands ready to employ state of the art equipment and facilities for characterizing the physical properties and inorganic chemical species in samples of water, soil and a wide range of other materials. Standard preparative and analytical methods approved by the EPA and other regulatory bodies as well as custom procedures developed in our laboratories or by clients are employed routinely. A partial list of the procedures most often requested by clients appears below. To view a comprehensive list of the equipment available for performance of the methods, click here.
Method 6010 (USEPA, SW-846)

Method 7000 Series (USEPA, SW-846)
Determination of the concentrations of metallic elements by Inductively Coupled Argon Plasma Emission Spectrometry (ICAP). Preparation of samples for analysis is matrix dependent. Of the several approved methods in current use, Methods 3010 and 3050 are the procedures used for waters and soils, respectively. View a representative list of the major target analytes for Method 6010 by clicking here.

Determination of the concentrations of metallic elements by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) by: 1) graphite furnace, 2) hydride generation, if appropriate; or, for mercury, by cold vapor. Preparation of samples for analysis is matrix dependent and, in some cases, analyte dependent as well. In the latter cases, the method specified preparative technique is employed. Otherwise, of the several approved methods in current use, Methods 3020 and 3050 are the procedures used for waters and soils, respectively.
Method 9010/9012 (USEPA, SW-846)

Method 300.0 (USEPA, 600/4-79-020)
Determination of anions in waters and soil extracts by liquid chromatography.
Determination of total and amenable cyanide in wastes and leachates by distillation and UV spectrophotometric measurement of a cyanide derivative in the distillate.
